It is well known that throughout our life, our brain is exposed to plentiful amounts of distress and disorder. From the time we are born, stressful environmental factors come into play. Possibly from our upbringing, from dysfunctional personal and family relationship, from excessive stresses at work, from extreme cases of emotional trauma, head injury, and/or substance abuse. All these factors, as well as others, can cause a brain to become deregulated and out of balance leading to possible experiences of depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, addiction issues, and sleep problems to name only a few. Neurofeedback may help with these issues by working with the brain to restore its rhythm and thus allow for more periods of calm amid life’s many demands.
